Hertingfordbury Cowper Primary in Birch Green was founded in 1850 and is rated as outstanding by Ofsted. A one form entry state nursery and primary school housed in a traditional Victorian building which has been recently enhanced with a fantastic new hall complex, a newly refurbished glass domed indoor swimming pool and other modernisations

This part of Hertfordshire is well known for it’s stunning countryside and ancient woodland such as Broxbourne Woods, it is also highly regarded by walkers and cyclists, making Hertingfordbury a great place to base yourself if you want to enjoy the beauty of rural Hertfordshire. Walks include Panshanger Park, with its Great Oak, considered by some to be the oldest oak in England or the walk along the Cole Green Way, a tree lined disused railway line which takes you from Hertford to Welwyn Garden, a pub stop en route at the Cowper Arms is a must with its great food and warm atmosphere.
