Brickendon & Bayford
A perfect pair of quintessentially English, ‘Best Kept Village’-winning villages.
Bayford & Brickendon are approximately 3 miles south of Hertford, 5 miles from the A10 and around 8 miles from the M25. There is also a railway link in between both villages that serves Moorgate, typically providing 3 trains per hour. Although both situated in the countryside, they are still not too far from popular commuting links.
In previous years, Bayford has won ‘Best Kept Village’ awards, and holds a ‘Gardens Open Day’ in which many of the residents open their gardens to the public to enjoy. There is a mixed infants and junior school in the village, a pub called the Bakers Arms and a cricket pavilion. There is not a post office facility nor is there a general shop in Bayford, so most residents stock up from shops in Hertford, which is the nearest town to this village.

Complete with traditional village green, Brickendon Grange golf course, cosy pubs and station for London trains.
Brickendon is set around a traditional village green, which offers a playing area for younger children. Brickendon also benefits from having a village pub, The Farmer’s Boy, that receives great reviews from visitors. If you’re a keen golfer and enjoy a round now and then, Brickendon Grange Golf Club is situated only a minutes’ drive from the village green. If you are looking for a more rural location with great views and easy travelling to and from the busier towns, then these two are contenders for you.
